High in the mountains of Washington States sits a peaceful hiking trail. Along this trail is a 1/2 mile long concrete snow shed and a few crumbling concrete foundations. Unless they stop and read the trail markers, many hikers don't realize that the beautiful alpine setting was once the site of the worst avalanche disaster in the history of the United States.
In Avalanche of Spirits: The Ghosts of Wellington, Karen tells the story of that avalanche and the ghosts that many believe remain more than 100 years after their lives ended in tragedy.
Karen spent much of the summer of 2009 at the site of the Wellington avalanche and got to know the ghosts that remain there. This is their story.

About Karen Frazier
Karen has spent most of her adult life writing in some capacity or another. As a journalist, she has researched and written about a variety of provocative topics. As a marketing communications specialist, she has written corporate marketing communications for more than 20 years.
Living in a WWII-era apartment in her early 20s where very strange things happened on a regular basis set Karen on a lifelong search for answers about the unexplained. Since then, Karen has sought out paranormal experiences in order to better understand the things that we can’t see or explain.
Karen is a reporter and the Managing Editor for Paranormal Underground Magazine. In that capacity, she has investigated and written about a number of paranormal and scientific phenomena including reincarnation, quantum physics, near-death experiences, human consciousness, brain science, ghosts, cryptids, UFOs and more. She has also interviewed some of the top paranormal experts and para-celebrities including noted UFOlogist Stanton T. Friedman, Ghost Adventures Zak Bagans, ITC researcher Mark Macy and many others. She is the moderator and producer of the Paranormal Underground Presents….podcast – a monthly podcast that talks to leaders in the paranormal field. She is the host of the weekly radio show, Paranormal Underground Radio, which airs Thursday nights from 6 to 8 PM Pacific on ZTalkRadio.com. She also blogs at www.paranormalunderground.net and at www.namasteproject.org.
Karen is the Director of Productions and Public Relations for Ghost Knight Media. She is also the author of Lessons of Many Lives, co-written with past life regression hypnotherapist Melissa Watts; Avalanche of Spirits: The Ghosts of Wellington, and the upcoming Supernatural! Exploring the Mysteries of Our Universe (due out in 2010). Karen is also the founder of The Namaste Project, and she is currently writing a book about her experiences called My 100 Days of Namaste: A Soccer Mom Takes on the Namaste Project.
She lives at home in the Pacific Northwest with her husband Jim, children Kevin and Tanner and four dogs.
